Evening and morning and at noon I utter my complaint and moan, and he hears my voice.
praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,
pray without ceasing,
Let my prayer be counted as incense before you, and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice!
Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.
In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to him who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence.
The next day, as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the housetop about the sixth hour to pray.
And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed.
I rise before dawn and cry for help; I hope in your words. My eyes are awake before the watches of the night, that I may meditate on your promise.
When Daniel knew that the document had been signed, he went to his house where he had windows in his upper chamber open toward Jerusalem. He got down on his knees three times a day and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he had done previously.
At midnight I rise to praise you, because of your righteous rules.
to declare your steadfast love in the morning, and your faithfulness by night,
And Cornelius said, “Four days ago, about this hour, I was praying in my house at the ninth hour, and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing
And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart. He said, “In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor respected man. And there was a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying, ‘Give me justice against my adversary.’ For a while he refused, but afterward he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God nor respect man, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will give her justice, so that she will not beat me down by her continual coming.’”
And after he had taken leave of them, he went up on the mountain to pray.
But I, O Lord, cry to you; in the morning my prayer comes before you.
Give attention to the sound of my cry, my King and my God, for to you do I pray. O Lord, in the morning you hear my voice; in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for you and watch.
About the ninth hour of the day he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God come in and say to him, “Cornelius.”
Then they answered and said before the king, “Daniel, who is one of the exiles from Judah, pays no attention to you, O king, or the injunction you have signed, but makes his petition three times a day.”
And he saw that they were making headway painfully, for the wind was against them. And about the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea. He meant to pass by them,
though I call and cry for help, he shuts out my prayer;
Behold, I cry out, ‘Violence!’ but I am not answered; I call for help, but there is no justice.
