A lying tongue hates its victims, and a flattering mouth works ruin.
You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. to keep you from the forbidden woman, from the adulteress with her smooth words.
to preserve you from the evil woman, from the smooth tongue of the adulteress.
If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have been guilty of sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. Whoever hates me hates my Father also. If I had not done among them the works that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin, but now they have seen and hated both me and my Father.
