But passing through their midst, he went away.
Again they sought to arrest him, but he escaped from their hands.
So they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple.
When Jesus said to them, “I am he,” they drew back and fell to the ground. So he asked them again, “Whom do you seek?” And they said, “Jesus of Nazareth.”
Now when day came, there was no little disturbance among the soldiers over what had become of Peter.
