While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.” When Jesus had said these things, he departed and hid himself from them.
for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light
For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness.
For so the Lord has commanded us, saying, “‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’” And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed.
So they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple.
The master commended the dishonest manager for his shrewdness. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own generation than the sons of light.
Jesus therefore no longer walked openly among the Jews, but went from there to the region near the wilderness, to a town called Ephraim, and there he stayed with the disciples.
Again they sought to arrest him, but he escaped from their hands. He went away again across the Jordan to the place where John had been baptizing at first, and there he remained.
He came as a witness, to bear witness about the light, that all might believe through him.
Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.
Whoever says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in darkness. Whoever loves his brother abides in the light, and in him there is no cause for stumbling. But whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.
But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.”
And leaving them, he went out of the city to Bethany and lodged there.
