Because you have not remembered the days of your youth, but have enraged me with all these things, therefore, behold, I have returned your deeds upon your head, declares the Lord God. Have you not committed lewdness in addition to all your abominations?
And in all your abominations and your whorings you did not remember the days of your youth, when you were naked and bare, wallowing in your blood.
Therefore I have poured out my indignation upon them. I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath. I have returned their way upon their heads, declares the Lord God.”
But as for those whose heart goes after their detestable things and their abominations, I will bring their deeds upon their own heads, declares the Lord God.”
They did not remember his power or the day when he redeemed them from the foe,
then those of you who escape will remember me among the nations where they are carried captive, how I have been broken over their whoring heart that has departed from me and over their eyes that go whoring after their idols. And they will be loathsome in their own sight for the evils that they have committed, for all their abominations.
But they rebelled and grieved his Holy Spirit; therefore he turned to be their enemy, and himself fought against them.
But they soon forgot his works; they did not wait for his counsel.
And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury. There will be tribulation and distress for every human being who does evil, the Jew first and also the Greek,
“You stiff-necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit. As your fathers did, so do you.
“Behold, I will press you down in your place, as a cart full of sheaves presses down.
As for me, my eye will not spare, nor will I have pity; I will bring their deeds upon their heads.”
Now I will soon pour out my wrath upon you, and spend my anger against you, and judge you according to your ways, and I will punish you for all your abominations. And my eye will not spare, nor will I have pity. I will punish you according to your ways, while your abominations are in your midst. Then you will know that I am the Lord, who strikes.
Now the end is upon you, and I will send my anger upon you; I will judge you according to your ways, and I will punish you for all your abominations. Can a virgin forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? Yet my people have forgotten me days without number.
For forty years I loathed that generation and said, “They are a people who go astray in their heart, and they have not known my ways.”
How often they rebelled against him in the wilderness and grieved him in the desert!
They have made me jealous with what is no god; they have provoked me to anger with their idols. So I will make them jealous with those who are no people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.
