Then David said, “Will the men of Keilah surrender me and my men into the hand of Saul?” And the Lord said, “They will surrender you.”
and you have not delivered me into the hand of the enemy; you have set my feet in a broad place.
Now come down, O king, according to all your heart's desire to come down, and our part shall be to surrender him into the king's hand.”
To the choirmaster: according to Jeduthun. A Psalm of David. For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation.
And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
Ah, you who hide deep from the Lord your counsel, whose deeds are in the dark, and who say, “Who sees us? Who knows us?”
There was a little city with few men in it, and a great king came against it and besieged it, building great siegeworks against it. But there was found in it a poor, wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city. Yet no one remembered that poor man.
Now it was told Saul that David had come to Keilah. And Saul said, “God has given him into my hand, for he has shut himself in by entering a town that has gates and bars.”
It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man.
