Precise Coordinates Notes | Zondervan Encyclopedia of the Bible (2010) (Sephar) mentions "Isfar, south of the valley of the Hadramaut," and Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary (2003) (Sephar) mentions "Itsphar south of Hadramaut" separately from Al Baleed; however, I think these are actually referring to Al Baleed. Kalisch, Genesis (1858), calls the nearby villages "Tsafar" or "Isfar;" same with Transactions of the American Ethnological Society, Volume 1 (1845) and Ayre, Treasury of Bible Knowledge (1866) and Cyclopaedia of Biblical, Theological, and Ecclesiastical Literature (1894); Land of Frankincense Archaeological Project (2019) identifies Al Baleed with Zafar |
